About this program
In this workshop, participants learn traditional Brazilian rhythms and songs by playing different instruments, such as shekeres, bells and drums. They explore three-part musical arrangements and discover the secrets behind the lively carnival songs that permeates all of Brazil’s unique and distinctive music. Participants also gain a basic understanding of the dances associated with the rhythms and songs explored, as well as the socio-geographic context associated with them.

Students will develop their musical knowledge and skills through listening to music, manipulating some basic elements of music, and exploring repertoire from a variety of cultures; care for musical instruments understanding of the basic elements of music specified for each grade through listening to, performing, and creating music; Distinguishing between beat and rhythm; Identifying examples of dynamics (the varying degree of volume of sound); Singing music from a variety of cultures; create rhythmic patterns, using a variety of sounds; accompany songs, using appropriate rhythm instruments; identify the tempo; identify the instruments within the percussion family of orchestral instruments.
