Tyler Proulx
About the Artist
Tyler Proulx (TRP613 in the street art world) is a street artist from Ottawa. He makes art for everyone and really enjoy working with local communities on projects. The main image he does is his ‘Sailor Dude’. He has been fortunate to collaborate with so many amazing artists, from all over the world. He loves Ottawa and loves bringing colour and creativity into the streets. He did his undergraduate degree at Carleton University in Art history and currently teaches art, math, and physical education in high school. He is on the Board of Directors for House of PainT as the visual arts leader.
As a high school art teacher, Tyler aims to instil the idea of ‘art for everyone’ in his lessons. He also talks about being socially responsible and understanding that if you are putting art in public places that you do it in an appropriate manner. He has done many murals in the city and hopes to continue doing them. He has done murals at Lincoln Heights Park, the Byward Market, House of PainT, and The Beachconers. Tyler also organized an event in 2019 to paint the Arlington Five building and surrounding buildings.
